Anne Frank Cast Plaque

Ward Signs has recently completed a new cast resin plaque for long standing client Bristol City Council in Brandon Hill Park, Bristol.

The Mayor’s Office at Bristol City Council approached Ward Signs to manufacture a sign that would be in remembrance of Anne Frank. The plaque was to be installed into the ground in front of the tree planted in her name. It was decided to be manufactured out of a cast material that would be able to stand the test of time.

The plaque was painted in two colours and encapsulated in lacquer and was designed in a modern sans-serif font. Due to the nature of the opening ceremony, the deadline was shorter than it would have usually been. Yet, Ward Signs were able to meet that deadline with time to spare. As Ward Signs have plenty of experience manufacturing such signage, they were able to use their expertise to expedite the sign without reduction in its overall quality.

Bristol City Council arranged an opening ceremony for the plaque, with Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees attending. It was COVID-secure, and took place 4 days ahead of the anniversary of Anne Frank’s birth on Saturday 12th June. Mayor Rees said: “Thanks to the generosity and expertise of local and national partners, we are proud to unveil the new plaque on Brandon Hill, which will help visitors appreciate the history of the Anne Frank Tree.”

Ward Signs have a plethora of experience in manufacturing cast plaques. Whether you would like to design your own or give them the details and have their artwork team draft it for you, modern computer-based designs and traditional plaque maker techniques are combined to produce a piece that will dignify the occasion or person in a fine way. Events in world history both large and small have traditionally been preserved or remembered by the unveiling of a plaque. Symbolic to the memory of the event, the plaque should also be able to stand the test of time.

Fast, Courteous and Well-priced

I commissioned Wards of Bristol to produce a bronze memorial plaque, which featured the intricate engraving of a scarce butterfly. The resulting work is beautiful and has completely surpassed my expectations.

The service received was also fast, courteous and well-priced, and I would gladly recommend Wards to anyone I know.
