The Worshipful Company of Stationers

Ward Signs has recently completed a new range of signage for new client The Worshipful Company of Stationers in The City of London

According to their website, most of the members of The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers “work in, or supply, the paper, print, publishing, packaging, office products, newspaper, broadcasting and online media industries.” The company is known for their charitable giving, particularly in education, that “connects young people with [their] industries”.

The Stationers’ Company approached Ward Signs in need of long-lasting signage for their shopfront located a stone’s throw from St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. The company requested specific font, colour, illumination and layout choices. Naturally, Wards were happy to follow along with their ideas and produced signage that closely matched their needs. What resulted was aesthetically pleasing illuminated lettering & projecting signage.

The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers have been around for over 600 years. In the early 1400s, craftsmen began setting up stalls or “stations” around St. Paul’s Cathedral – hence the name “Stationers”. Despite ever-changing technological advances, the company is as strong as ever, having nearly 1000 members. These members come from, not just all over the United Kingdom, but increasingly from the rest of the world. Members can range from individuals to major companies.

Fast, Courteous and Well-priced

I commissioned Wards of Bristol to produce a bronze memorial plaque, which featured the intricate engraving of a scarce butterfly. The resulting work is beautiful and has completely surpassed my expectations.

The service received was also fast, courteous and well-priced, and I would gladly recommend Wards to anyone I know.
